I’m currently reading a book by Iyanla Vanzant entitled, “Peace from Broken Pieces.”
This book digs deep into the author’s troublesome past, including her mother’s passing away at 2 years old, the absence of her father, physical abuse, pregnancy and rape throughout her childhood, leading all the way up to her present being (her on Oprah, and loosing her house, the death of her daughter and the loss of her soulmate/lover), and ways in which she’s overcome all of the obstacles she was presented. Goes into depth about maintaining sanity, faith and love, despite it all.
This is a very powerful reading and I am yet another voice in the crowd that agree’s with her 100% of the way. Iyanla is an amazing woman with more strength than I can ever imagine one to possess. Although I’ only 50pages in, I am addicted. I too, am going through an emotional period and required a literature like this to raise my spirits. I will too–write about this in due time.
